Tomato, also known by its botanical name Lycopersicon esculentum, can be found as a vegetable as well as a fruit.

Tomatoes are also rich in vitamins B, A, sodium, potassium, calcium, iron, magnesium, manganese, phosphorus, zinc, starch, protein and fat, so there are many benefits to eating tomatoes. But there are times when these are both good and bad for our health, so be sure to avoid overeating and stop using if you have any allergies.
